Welcome to the Village of Saranac Lake named the best small town in New York State and ranked 11th in the United States in The 100 Best Small Towns in America.

There are many reason why it got this ranking but one of the beauty’s of  this small town is it community. There are not many places where over 180 people will come out on a weekend morning and help a store owner move is shop down the street. But that is just what happened when Mark moved Ampersound to its new location on Main Street.  (video coming soon)

If you enjoy arts then this town is overflowing with artist and art. From Bluseed Studio to Mark Ellis’s Camera Obscura. You will find a wide range of different art and art projects. Including live music that is heard both inside and on the street.

The membership of the Saranac Lake 6ers consists of hikers who have climbed to the summits of the 6 peaks of the Adirondacks encircling Saranac Lake on or after May 25, 2013. Click ‘About’

Mission
The Saranac Lake 6er program is designed to increase visitors and tourism in Saranac Lake by using the “Adirondack 46er” model to bring hikers to the six nearby mountain peaks encircling Saranac Lake: McKenzie Mt., Ampersand Mt., Scarface Mt., Haystack Mt., St. Regis Mt., and Mt. Baker.

There is a need to market the other great hiking mountains in the Adirondack Park to more evenly distribute the traffic and to introduce visitors to other outstanding areas of the Adirondack Park and the Saranac Lake 6er Program will do just that.
